Jehanne reviewed The Forgotten City
The Forgotten City is a tale of wasted potential. The premise, and its core mechanics, seemed wonderful at first - I adored the game during my first hours of playtime. There was a certain mystery to it that kept me engaged in the story, eager to explore all possibilities.

Unfortunately, it seems like the writers just didn't quite know what to do with it in the long run. Initially, the game promised some quite interesting discussions on morality and society but this notion was discarded in favour of some mediocre gameplay and an ultimately shallow message about hierarchy and power imbalances.

Also as a former student of classical philology, the inaccuracies concerning Roman / Greek mythology and ancient communities drove me up the wall. You'd imagine people would do proper research before releasing a game like this, huh.
