The God of War series has cemented itself in the annuals of gaming history but this first game is much less appealing than I thought it would be. Kratos has evolved as a character, but in this first game, he doesn't speak much although his story is very cool. The hack-and-slash gameplay is fun but the platforming and PS2 controls ruin the game. I wish I could like this game more but the frustrating aspects make this game skippable.
