When this game came out I was itching for a Pokémon game on the Switch but years later it hasn't aged well. The idea of doing yet another remake of Gen 1 was annoying but the new gameplay mechanic was cool. The problem with this game is that it doesn't do enough-it was a placeholder game before Sword and Shield which came out 1 year later. This game might be appealing to non-fans but for the average gamer seeking a fun Pokémon experience, this does not deliver as well as other entries.
