For all intents and purposes. This game should be my jam, but it is my marmite. The concept is pretty simple, boy climbs mountain. In that aspect the idea has a lot of potential but falls apart almost immediately when you find out the game does not let you any gap. Instead it demands that you rope to a wall. this seems nitpicky but it caused a lot of inconveniences that build up, if you want to explore it stops you, if you walk on an uneven surface you will often get stuck in place. This issue extends to the restricted freedom of what is a pretty free exploration option. The idea of climbing a mountain presents limitless potential due to the freedom of ways you should be able to attempt it but the limitation make this feel just like any other climbing section in adventure games. The strict limitation can also cause frustrations when attempting platforming, specifically swinging, where, even though there are only a handful of opportunities for large swings, all ended up frustrating as either you would not grab the game-guided indentations or the game would yank you away for fear of showing any injury to the main character.

Hopefully someone attempts this again in the future. Ironically I feel that Baby Steps will be showing the game how to achieve this in the near future
