While I had some minor problems with the game itself, Judgement is RGG storytelling at its very best. The story was engaging throughout, aside from a few sudden pauses in it when it was interrupted by a seemingly random side case but I found it didn’t bother me all too much and didn’t throw off the pacing too badly. The conclusion was incredibly satisfying and the final boss fight has become one of my favorites in the series.

The side content was less engaging than some of the other Yakuza games as I didn’t really care for the drone races and really do wish it had karaoke. The random encounters with the Keihin gang/ threat level mechanic got old really fast and became frustrating eventually.

Overall just a fantastic game that I enjoyed immensely. Congratulations to Masaharu Kaito for having the best ass in the entire Yakuza franchise.
