Despite the games many bugs, when it was good it was great. This game was what popularized battle royales. I believe minecraft hungergames pioneered the genre, but H1Z1 paved the way for PUBG and Fortnite. This game had a good set of mechanics one could master, and a great lootpool. The game was simple, but not 2D. Had a different company managed this game Pre 2016, it would've been one of the largest BRs out there. Just as blizzard killed overwatch, Daybreak butchered H1Z1. My rating stands, because when it was good it was great.

After playing battle royales for 6+ years, I never thought I'd be hooked as strongly as I was when I first started Naraka. What makes this game unique when comparing to other BR's is the traditional style of melee combat you get when playing. Aside from the combat, Naraka's most gameplay-defining feature is its fast-paced movement, thanks to its plentiful dashes and grappling hooks. I've always been addicted to FPS's, with there being a few exceptions, namely H1Z1 and Fortnite. I feel as if I'm predisposed to favoring FPSs so I was surprised when I became so addicted to one that wasn't. Highly recommend trying this one out. I'm giving naraka a 8.5/10 due to the mega OP bloodrippers weapon that don't always spawn and the late-late game intensity isn't as high when the circle simply closes. Maybe they can try introducing new concepts into the game such as a moving zone, when it gets to a certain size? One thing I hope to see changed is that this BR is $19.99. I believe they need to hop on the free game with micro transactions wave. CoD, Battlefield, Halo, and more have already done this. If anything, you could purchase it and refund within 2 hours of playtime if you dislike it. My second favourite BR, and the highest skill ceiling title within the genre.

This game had me addicted for over a month, then it dropped off hard. Every few months I tried to revisit the game, but due to the game being P2W, and gear honing being inconsistent I hit a hard wall in the progression system. It was too alt grindy, playing 5 alts a day to funnel gold into your main. The game felt less and less fun overtime and more like chore. It felt as if I launching the game was identical to doing homework. I give the game a good rating due to 99% of the time I spent on it, I enjoyed it.
