l4u says fuck auditions and weekly trends and lets your idols dance around in silly outfits independently of any of that. pretty much a live customizer/viewer rather than a traditional game. i can dress haruka up in all manner of ridiculous costumes AND i don't have to worry about the judges shooting her in the head because her stats suck. splendid. even if the rhythm minigame is kinda basic the emphasis on customization easily makes up for that. dlc is highly recommended since that's where a lot of the awesome content comes from (look at this)
