First things first, when the game allows you to just go at high speeds without stupid hazards looming ahead, this game is a lot of fun. Too bad that doesn't get to happen much because the level design in this game is pretty poor, lots of bottomless pits and falling platforms for absolutely no reason as well as deciding when you can and can't go fast. The music is superb for the most part, definitely doesn't keep you from feeling bored whilst if you get stuck in a certain part of the level. Most of the bosses just feel like slogs because you're not able to attack them for most of the fight and it can be downright unfair with how few frames they're vulnerable for during their later phases. Sonic's special stages are good but I think the difficulty spike from 5 to 6 is a little too harsh, don't even get me started on 7. The story definitely takes a lot of inspiration from Adventure and it's definitely not as impactful but it's nice to see Blaze warm-up to everyone. Overall I think this game is like fine enough but it definitely has some major flaws that aren't neglectable, causing it to feel like a very unfocused game.
