Tragically broken (like most Sonic games) but all the more enjoyable for it (unlike most Sonic games). Think of it as though you permanently have the Feather in Super Mario World: it's unwieldy at first and renders 80% of the level design irrelevant, but once you get some momentum going you feel like the king of the world.

If you value your relationships, DO NOT play Charmy Bee in co-op. Your friend/partner will quickly come to resent you as you drag them haplessly through each level in your insatiable need to air dash three times a second like XF3 Magneto.
