This log is to denote that I attained 100% completion on this date. I haven't retired Tekken 8, though I have finished all the single player content on offer.
Steam review from 7 Mar, 2024:
"This is an absolute triumph for fighting games, but it's far from perfect.

Despite Tekken's reputation for having a sharp learning curve for newcomers, Tekken 8 is incredibly accessible thanks to the robust practice features that has you throwing out viable combos within a few short hours. Every stage and character is meticulously detailed and energetically animated, and every fight has a fantastic cinematic flair that's only elevated by its roaring soundtrack. There's also a healthy portion of single player content, including two relatively lengthy campaigns and arcade-like "character episodes" for each fighter.

It's unfortunate then, that the ranked mode in Tekken 8 is such a huge letdown. If your opponent ragequits from a match, they do not take a loss and you do not win. The points system for determining your rank is completely illogical, and appears to penalise you more for losing matches against players ranked higher than you than players ranked lower than you. Oftentimes, you will gain/lose a vast amount of points from a match for seemingly no reason - the entire community still has no solid explanation for this. Why can you choose to match with players of any skill level in ranked? Does that not defeat the whole purpose of the ranked mode?

These issues with ranked need to be fixed for Tekken 8 to have longevity as a competitive game. This is a feature-complete fighting game, but the current state of ranked is an unpleasant stain on what would be a universal recommendation."
