at the time, this was a substantial licensed game with compelling enough gameplay, given the IP was doing most of the heavy lifting. having familiar characters with different abilities lends itself to a conversion like this, and when you've got Michael Giacchino's music, the original voice actors, and loosely follow the movie, it'd make for a grand adventure with tons of environments and variations in gameplay.
looking back though, it's easy to see why I only really have memories with the beginnings of most of these levels. the precision of the controls and the lack of assistance features like coyote time or jump buffering can make the platforming and checkpoints system feel frustrating. fortunately though, you can unlock all the levels with cheat codes.
it is a shame that violet was given very little to do with the game, nor were jack-jack and the baby-sitter, or frozone for that matter.
