you pre-empt this by saying "if only it was more fictionalised" a dystopia but i dont really get how this wouldnt apply to the genre as a whole ngl. most of those writers were also just trying to observe the world around them, but its possible they lost their bite since a lot of those books are like over 50 years old by now. like i could see someone write this review for 1984 and that didn't have mutants running around or weird gnostic shit going on
