I gave it a full 5 stars to reflect the absolute joy of a time I had slurping this game down with a spoon, but I am more than willing to acknowledge that this is NOT a perfect JRPG.

It is, however, a great one. It represents a slight evolution of the work that Sakaguchi and his team at Square did in the lead up to his departure, and presents a dark story steeped in tragedy that fits the vibe of the Xbox platform as it was in 2007. It boasts a strong score composed by Nobuo Uematsu, a tight forty hour story, and compelling combat and character progression that I found immensely satisfied.

Don't rush out to buy an Xbox JUST to play this game, but if you have it you owe it to your self to throw it on and let it wash over you.
