A rare language puzzle solving game that nails its challenge. The languages has some clever deductions such as the shape, meaning and construction which makes it more rewarding to figure out. I also appreciate is how the game takes notes and images for the player where I did not need to use an external note taking device typical in hard puzzle games. Alongside the fixed/tracking camera, the visual aesthetic is quite pleasing specially the lines that provide shape and depth as plain large color blocks can't be harsh on the eyes. With its low price, this game just provides so much value,

As for issues though, I think some of the puzzles are guesswork due to being unclear or confusing. Some leeway is granted here given the nature of language but the last portion of the game really pushes that limit as well as the pacing. While deciphering a few languages are hard enough, I would like it if the languages have little commonality with each other but I cannot imagine the difficulty or design much less testing of more varied languages. Some of the other mechanics and mini-games such as stealth and inventory are underutilized or unremarkable. Although they are meant to vary the pacing, they could still be more memorable.

Aside from those issues and loving the game, it does not reach that meaningful height to push the game to be truly great. I do like how sincere and positive the message is but I feel it does not emotionally or technically land. Language is cultural, social and geopolitical so the ending somewhat ignores those nuances. I also think a certain economic class was missing in the ending making it a bit muddled. Still the intent is good so I can let it slide but I am disappointed.

The game does deliver on its core promise of a language solving game and for that I can very much recommend this.
