Metroid Prime is without a doubt one of the best games ever made and the effort put into the remaster is impressive and beautiful.

I love the world design so much. Every area looks awesome and the atmosphere is almost unmatched as far as I'm concerned. The level design is great though it could have done with a few less visits through Magmoor to get to Phendrana.

For people more accustomed to modern FPS gameplay design, Prime might feel a bit outdated and limited but I find myself enjoying the simplicity of it. I am pretty bad at aiming with analog sticks (gyro does help a bit) and so the simplicity in addition to the lock-on system makes it an enjoyable ride.

The different beams and suit upgrades are about what you would expect from Metroid, however the Charge Combos are a really cool feature that can add variety to encounters. I did not enjoy the visor upgrades as much as I found the filters applied to them to be distracting, blurry, and just really hard to see through.

Lastly, the Remastered part of the title does not lie. This is simply one of the best looking Switch games while retaining the 60 FPS target of the original game. The updated models and textures are far higher quality--above what I expected. The visuals are so impressive that I feel it sets a new standard for this kind of re-release.

All in all, Metroid Prime Remastered is great because Metroid Prime is good.
