Baby's first Pokémon game.
If you're experienced with the rest of the series, this one's a snoozefest. It's Pokémon Yellow with a new coat of paint for the most part, with some - but not all - of the modern mechanics built in, along with new additions to make the ride as easy as possible for newcomers.
One of my main gripes with this one is that a lot of it kind of just feels phoned in? You'd expect a modern remake of Kanto to go all out, like ORAS did - remixed story, tons of new features, oozing style from decades of developing the series...but nah. It's just a Pokémon game.
