The amount of value that you can get out of this game, from the price that's currently being asked for, is, frankly, obscenely absurd.

I spent my entire 2022 without giving a damn about this thing. I kept seeing it popping up on Steam constantly; opened up its store page, gave a look upon the screenshots, and that was it. I simply found it a bit too ugly and, without a good reference about its gameplay mechanics, I've only gotten into it now, after watching a review by DreamcastGuy on YouTube, which got me curious enough to put it on my radar.

Well, here I am now, after 162 out of 162 achievements got during sixty hours of playtime, from a game I played basically nonstop over the course of a little more than a week. Do I really have to say much more than that to state how absurdly good this game can be?

It is so simple in every aspect of its execution, that it's almost painful to think about it. The soundtrack is anything but fancy, the visuals are ridiculosly simple and the gameplay is so, so much basic that it wouldn't make sense, objectively speaking, that a game like this should be this successful; also, being THIS cheap, it truly makes you wonder.

Well, the devil is in the details. Vampire Survivors sucks you into an endless pit almost immediately, and you'll find yourself going into run after run, completely oblivious about the passage of time.
The more you play, you'll start noticing the game keeps unlocking more weapons, passive abilities, playable characters, stages, modes... and I didn't even mention that the game keeps being constantly updated by the developer, always with new items and achievements to unlock, and there's also the DLC content, which has by far my favourite stage in the entire thing, also with some great new characters and weapons to play with.

All of that, condensed into such an easy to dive in experience, will only keep you playing more, more and more, experimenting new combinations, evolving weapons and characters, and going on for much longer than the regular 30 minutes time limit.

This game is a gem.
If we think about it in a critical level, we can assume that games like this are more harmful to the medium as a whole than anything else; however, I am perfectly confident that Vampire Survivors represent a breath of fresh air to the industry: with an inate originality, such a simple and cheap game is capable of keeping you much more hooked than big AAA titles and their millionaire production values.
That, by itself, is already a proof of its billiantism, and I can guarantee you: buy it, worry-free. It will be good.

There's only one small observation that I (someone who compulsively played this to completion) would like to point out: Don't rush your playthrough. Enjoy the most you can out of this game, since there's an endless amount of time to experience every little detail that makes Vampire Survivors such a special thing to play.
Because, I swear to God, after days upon days of tirelessly playing this thing, after I smoke my joint before going to bed, I look upon the walls and all I can see are this game's XP gems swirling to the centre of an invisible vortex (which is precisely what happens inside the game).
This thing can relentlessly destroy your productivity, so I strongly recommend you play it in small doses to make the fun last longer, as it should be.
