A solid expansion that retains the core mechanics and world of Half Life 2, an all-time classic, but fails to innovate much. The darkness and tunnels section was pretty fun, as was the gunship in the attic, but towards the end, particularly the escort section and the "boss fight" at the very end, were just meh and a little annoying, and just felt like a letdown to the world-class game design that we saw in Half-Life 2. It's great to spend more time with Alyx, as I really like her character. A good time, but not anything majorly new.
