Circle of the Moon’s main problem is a lack of identity. It’s a perfectly fine Castlevania experience, but there’s not much about it that makes it stick out, which unfortunately makes its flaws more noticeable. The running controls, the lack of shops, and the dull color palette all bring this game down from reaching the heights of its brethren. There’s still some things to enjoy here though, and even a subpar Castlevania is still a good game.
