(Completed on Nintendo Switch in around 21 hours.)

The first Ace Attorney game is pretty strong, and does a good job on introducing the characters which get further expanded upon in the future games. I found that the cases get better as they go on, with chapter 4 being the peak of this game. Its entertaining and over the top and while some things don't quite make sense, its overall enjoyable enough that it didn't ruin the experience for me. Case 5 is good, although I think it drags on for too long. Case 3 was ridiculous, but still very entertaining. I wasn't a huge fan of Case 2, and found its conclusion to be a little unsatisfying. Case 1 was fine, a decent introduction to Phoenix and the gameplay.

This game has you exploring crime scenes and talking to people to gather evidence, which is used to break apart peoples testimonies in court. This is a very simple game in terms of mechanics, although sometimes the evidence your meant to present is a little unclear, for better or worse. It is pretty satisfying to break through a nearly airtight testimony though.
Overall I enjoyed this game very much. It was highly entertaining, and the cases were very fun to go through. Some of the antagonists were fairly intimidating as well, although all of them were fairly predictable, but that could be intentional.
If you plan to play this, I recommend that you don't take it too seriously, it does have serious moments but a good amount of it is meant to be funny and over the top.
