A cinematic, "airtight" open-world experience that prioritizes a shorter, but more memorable story and missions within it rather than a bloated game with meaningless quests.

Yes for an open-world game it is extremely short, clocking in at about 10 or so hours to get through the main game. But the approach here is all killer, and no filler. I can't even think of a bad mission in this game. Yes there were some that were a little bit better than others, but all in all every single mission was extremely memorable.

So many open-world games suffer from bloat, meaningless missions/quests, and artificial time-wasters that it was so refreshing playing a game that had an immersive open-world, but also a very memorable story that hooked you from beginning to end.

The only thing that weighs this game down for me was the fact that it definitely needed just a little more polish before it released, driving doesn't feel great, the gunplay is so-so on mouse and keyboard, and there are numerous glitches and bugs within it (not to mention it requires a beefy PC to run well), but all in all I very much enjoyed my time with this game, and am really looking forward to Mafia II.
