Absolute masterpiece of a shooter that set the groundwork for just about every other 3D FPS to come. An ALMOST perfect game in my book.
First thing, Nightdive did an awesome job with this remaster, keeping the authentic gameplay and look, while adding some great graphical tweaks, gyro aiming, and exclusive expansions.
The only gripes I have about this game mostly lie within the original game, one issue can be prevented while the other unfortunately cannot.
The first is that they really should've patched out the rune completion glitch, as I unfortunately went through this when I got all of the runes, but because I reloaded saves it unfortunately nuked my progress on half of the runes that I legitimately got. Apparently this exists in the original, but there's absolutely no reason to not have patched this out in the remaster. The second is the ending boss fight, so incredibly disappointing and anticlimactic!
All in all this is one hell of a shooter, and an incredibly addicting one that'll make you want to "just try one more time" after every time it kicks your butt
