Pros: EXCELLENT chip-tunes. Like, top-tier (the Game Boy version even better than the NES version, somethin about that little gray brick could churn out some good chunky beats!), keeps ya drummin' along blastin' pixelated prehistoric baddies. Also kinda cool to go through the events of the movie, playing as Alan Grant, protecting Lex and Tim in some stages even. I liked it when games did that back in the day, not bad.
Cons: The gameplay loop here is pretty dull, tbh, find a bunch of eggs hidden throughout the map, then collect a card key after finding them all, and then you're off to the next level, rinse and repeat... The graphics are also kinda not what you'd want out of a Jurassic Park licensed game, they're not bad, they're just... not impressive, and I don't know about you, but when I think of Jurassic Park dinosaurs, I think of impressive.
What it means to me: I was a very big Jurassic Park fan as a kid, it was my Star Wars, I adored the first film, and was absolutely sucked in to the marketing of the movie and wanted all sorts of merch. And the Game Boy game, was the only version my family could afford, and I got it on Christmas Morning! Now, I wasn't as big a fan at the time of top-down gameplay, I was more interested in say, the Sega Genesis version of Jurassic Park, but, didn't have that console at home, so Game Boy it was, and it was my escape into the world of Jurassic Park that I loved so much. Despite maybe not being so great of a game, it still meant something special to me.
