It's bad, but definitely not unplayable.

There is a specific boss that really is borderline unplayable, plus every hit/hurtbox in this game is completely broken

Maybe it's not unplayable in the literal sense, but it's very close to it

The story is really cool though, but it's one of those games that are best to watch playthroughs of it than to play it yourself

survival horror games are meant to have limited controls. it's fine

It's really not. Not one horror game that I've played had hitboxes/hit detection/collision/etc as bad as this game
