While the game is definitely an upgrade compared to Chapter 1, it still has a lot of problems.
I am an easily scared person, horror games are my weakness, and when I play them, I end up finding myself shaking from the slightest threat. With this game, I only got mildly scared (which is saying a lot), but I ended up feeling bored at the end. It just ends way too quickly. The monster is constantly being shown and talking to you throughout the whole game, and it kinda ruins any mystery they have. When I see Mommy watch me through a window, telling me how to play the minigame, I do not see her as threatening at all. It feels like she's trying way too hard to be scary, but she comes off as annoying half the time.
The minigames were very easy, and they felt like chores I had to do to complete the game. I like the ideas for them, but I just don't vibe with how they were executed. The whole time, you know what's going to happen, and when it's going to happen, you can see the jumpscares come from a mile away.
I also had a bad experience with softlocking myself in 2 different occasions, which in an 8-hour game wouldnt be that bad, but this game took me an hour to beat. I spent almost a fifth of my entire playthrough dealing with softlocks, and with the nedless padding that the minigames provided, this game felt like a bore to playthrough.
I was definitely scared, but I just didn't have that much fun, completing the game just feels empty.
