Shockingly short game even for a low-effort, low-budget movie tie-in - I was finished with the game in like two hours or so, that's absolutely nothing. It's a strange hybrid between a perpetually on-rails racing game and a skateboarding game that's all about doing midair tricks and button prompts. Personally, I don't think it works, this game never stops feeling stiff and awkward and you never get the feeling that you're actually surfing. It feels more like getting strung along a narrow transit line on a trolley that you can only occasionally do a half-hearted backflip on. Soundtrack is a banger, though, full of obscure rockers and catchy pop-punk hidden gems, so I gotta bump it up a half-star for that alone. After all, what's a good sports game without a killer OST?
