I like how much of the grinding of the old Pokemon games has been removed in the modern versions. The days of getting to the league after fighting every single NPC and still being very under-leveled are behind this franchise and I am happy for it.
The joy and whimsy of gathering 6 of my favorite friends and taking them on a journey through a region will never be removed from this franchise. That is Pokemon's most powerful tool and it will always stay here.
The only thing that saddens me is that these games could still be so much more if only Game Freak and Nintendo were willing to listen, but hey, I'm still here enjoying Pokemon.
