well. i am so torn on this update. on one hand, fontaine is AMAZING. i was so worried about water exploration but they handled it perfectly. exploring the region is so fun and beautiful, its probably my favourite water section in any game ever. the idea for the archon quest of solving a trial was Very fun for me as i am studying criminology/forensics and have a deep love for games like ace attorney ♡
on the other hand, however .. the characters. i love lyney and lynette. i genuinely adore them. something just still doesnt sit right with me about this reveal of them being fatui and i dont know why. it just feels weird to me. i also dont really like navia, shes annoying to have to put up with in this quest and that makes the second part drag by. idk what it is, some of the decisions just dont interest me at all
also, why tf did they not run lyney with freminet?? i would have wished for lyney asap but i needed to save for freminet who was released on the childe/zhongli banners, yuck. i just hold a bit of a grudge, unfortunately

a Very cute cast of characters in a super cute environment!! tysm for not sending us back to gaa for a third year in a row, id actually cry. the veluriyam mirage was so pretty and had so many interesting things about it, however something about it just felt a little hollow to me unfortunately. i loved exploring though, plus the characters and story more than make up for it!! i would do anything for idyia, i absolutely love her ♡♡♡
a fine filler patch! nothing too special about it, however i am biased bc i love playing tcg lol. kirara is such a loveable character, i adore her ♡ yoimiya also got one of the best story quests in the game, as she should!

the realm of farakhert is absolutely the best area of the desert for exploration, i had so much fun with the story quests and the region here!! one of my fave places on the map actually, plus the tree is such a pretty location you can see from fontaine ♡ this update also gave us apep though, so really we lost </3

this windblume was pretty standard - not the most interesting, however i dont expect much out of it. i adored seeing sucrose and collei together, and albedo making an appearance is so special to me ♡ it was fun to get some info about the hexenzirkel too! faruzans hangout is definitely one of my favourite in the entire game, shes so underrated ♡
HII ALHAITHAM ♡♡♡♡♡ i literally saved for this man for almost a year. i had 56k primos for him. proud alhaitham + lofi haver day one, my absolute most beloved ever ♡♡
i love the desert exploration and we got more jeht this time!! shes such a well written, loveable character and im so happy they focused on her again. hadramaveth is probably my least favourite desert area but the quests definitely make up for it. even random world quests like the fallen falcon made me emotional ♡ :,)

unfortunately idc much about scaramouche so this quest didnt do much for me emotionally </3 tcg however ?? obsessed. absolutely obsessed. im in love its so fun if you havent tried tcg before please do it i cannot recommend it enough. boredom killer ♡♡

a phenomenal end to an archon quest, the writing in sumeru was SO good im blown away every single time i think about it ♡ this is a lovely batch of characters and nahida is a great archon, i am so impressed with how i enjoy every single character who played a part in this story. layla is a really good character, the fungi event was fun, and photography events are always some of my favourites ♡

unpopular opinon: desert exploration is FUN. i love it here, the sumeru rainforest was great but the desert just has so many fun puzzles and locations. i adore it ♡ while the quests arent as good as the first sumeru update, this part of the game still has its moments. investigating the eleazar hospital with alhaitham and finding the escape tunnel behind it was a defining moment that i still think about sometimes, omg
the absolute best archon quest in the game. the sabzeruz festival arc reminded me about everything i love about genshin, the writing here is phenomenal. sumeru is such a lovely region to explore, everything about it is stunning. adding the little yellow stars you can jump to Really helped keep the pace up of adventuring ♡ also alhaitham if you can hear me hi i love you so much
gaa still sucks as a region to explore but i LOVE what they did with it this time around. kazuha, xinyan, mona, and fischl were such perfect characters to throw in this situation. they meshed together so well and the stories were really fun and exciting to experience. ive been a fischl fan since day one so im really glad she got to play a huge part in this event ♡♡ her skin is amazing, stunning, gorgeous, perfect .. and diluc is there ig
yelan ♡♡♡ perilous trail was, and still is, one of the best quests in the game. nothing has ever surpassed just how good this storyline was. unfortunately yelans story quest kinda ended poorly but it was solid enough throughout that ive gotten over its slight issues </3
when i say that the chasm was my most anticipated genshin area since release, I Mean It. this was such a highlight of the game for me, i went absolutely wild and i still adore the location to this day ♡♡
