I'm editing this review bc my opinions have changed a lot. I have very complicated feelings about this game. The battles are fun and addictive, but there aren't enough of them to really keep me engaged. Maybe I'm too used to SMT. The social sim elements bore me. I don't care about most of the characters. Yet, I can't stop coming back to it? I feel like there are a lot of cool things about this game that are ultimately weighed down by the fact that the story isn't the most engaging to me. It has things to say about society, but falls short on about 70% of them. Prime example being that Makoto still strives to be a cop knowing her friend went through severe trauma at the hand of the police and has personal experience with how corrupted they are? It's also hard to be anything but cynical about this game when you think about how ATLUS keeps milking it for money instead of trying new things. The OST is middle of the road. I like some tracks, but none would go on my playlist. Menu design is sick, though. Mid game overall
