for a PS1 platformer, this one is very solid
the controls are quite odd at first, but with enough time to get used to them, they're the best they could possibly be for a game like this
catching monkeys felt very aggravating for some in the later games, but when you do find and catch them, it's very satisfying
also the UK voice acting is better than the US by a mile, it's probably the only game i'd recommend playing PAL over NTSC (the slower speed is kinda better in the sense that it's easier to catch the monkeys and perfect the platforming)
specter sounds like a cool and calm villain who knows his powers and abuses it in the UK version, while he sounds really whiny in the US version, you can't compare lol
the music is phenomenal for a game like this, i might just be biased towards dnb music but every single track complements the stage perfectly
overall it's a very good game, especially for platformers on the PS1
even if you're not a fan of the genre i'd check it out for it's great music and fun exploration
