Being a mech kinda makes the clunky jumping controls where they had no idea what they were doing because full 3D movement didn't really exist yet feel tonally right. Lots of this game, from the super lo-fi look to the controls, feels like it's trying to go through as yet uncharted waters. Holds up surprisingly well, even if the game is over in a flash.
