You really can't teach an old dog new tricks. The QoL improvements and a fresh new coat of paint doesn't really fix the rotten core of the game. I really enjoyed the gameplay updates on most Atlus re-releases, so I wanted to give the updated version a fair shake, but the game doesn't address the fundamental problems with the game's awful game design. If Atlus wanted to make a Breath of the Wild clone, they should have done it outside of the mainline series.
