Delivers exactly on your expectations: it's a relentlessly challenging but engaging co-op experience, despite its flaws. Like its predecessor, it has a pretty addicting gameplay loop, yet polishes it up by adding more varied levels, more possibilities for dishes and the ability to throw ingredients, a feature so essential it feels weird going back to the original game, a bit like Sonic's spin dash. Although it can become tiring and repetitive in long sessions, with how restrictive the cooking is, it works well in short bursts, with you and your partner(s) slowly soldiering through every level. The difficulty balance is messy to say the least, since it had to accommodate all levels to 1 - 4 players, making the game harder the smaller your crowd is; had it introduced variations to those levels for each possible number of players, it would make for a much smoother experience. Add to that a wonky performance, with a few too many hiccups and glitches, and a pretty generic aesthetic and narrative, and it makes for a very flawed game with a concept and idea that, like the original, borders on brilliance, and still makes for an easy fit for a pleasant time with players of all ages and skill levels.
