Oh man, Blood Dragon is stupid. And that is what brings half of the fun to the table. I played in 2022 looong after finishing Far Cry 3 and due to this, it didn't feel like a rehash. It shares the same island but with way less content but a wonderful 80s synth overhaul. You are Rex "Power" Colt, a Mark IV cyber commando ready for redemption. The shooting is almost the same with different weapons, add-ons and grenades. You are still freeing camps and progressing through only SEVEN main missions. Considering that you can run what feels like 8 km/h (almost 5 mph) and take no fall damage, traversing the island is fast and simple. I rarely used any vehicles. So you should be through this in about four hours, collecting all VHS tapes, documents and TVs in the progress. But let's talk about the big elephant in the room: The humour. The dialogues are in between being written as a parody of dumb action one-liners and BEING ACTUAL dumb action one-liners. Sometimes making something ironically still feels stupid. I for example rolled my eyes a lot of times. But this kind of cringe is almost perfect for a short game like Blood Dragon so it never was too much. And everything is accompanied by the fantastic music of Power Glove. Definitely, one of the best game soundtracks of all time, at least if you like synth-wave. If you want a neat little game with a lot of action (at least in the main missions) for keeping you entertained for three to four hours then make a trip to the island of the Blood Dragons. But I wouldn't recommend spending more than 10 bucks.
