Tomb Raider: Anniversary is a fantastic remake and reboot of the beloved 1996 series featuring our favourite archaeologist, Lara Croft. Crystal Dynamics has managed to incorporate many new story beats and improvements without losing the charm of the original. Here and there, you find yourself pausing and thinking, "I know this!" The gameplay is beautifully fluid and slightly more action-packed than the original. However, it feels like there is slightly less control during jumps. Occasionally, Lara fails to grab ledges or misjudges jumps. Nevertheless, the levels continue to look superb and create a wonderful atmosphere. All of this is enhanced by an overarching new story revolving around the disappearance of Lara's mother, which spans the entire "first reboot trilogy." If you're a fan of action, exploration, and puzzles, you'll feel right at home here as a Lara enthusiast.
