A very polished action game. The shooting and movement feels just slow enough to keep things tense while still feeling responsive. The ammo economy forces you to carefully pick your shots (often taking additional risk to do so) and the action is well-paced with calmer sections to break the tension. The game is fairly hard even on normal, but doesn't get too much tougher after the first few chapters, since your guns and upgrades keep pace. The boss fights were probably the weakest point of the game for me - I found them generally less fun and more frustrating than the rest of the game. Granted, with some practice they were all manageable. The story is nothing to write home about (though the core concept is interesting), but the voice acting and writing is excellent (particularly Ashley and Leon). I enjoyed my time with the game but at the end of my play through I was ready to be done with it.
