Sonic Adventure DX: Director's Cut, made for the Gamecube in 2003 and released for the PC in 2011, does, for the most part, a good job at remastering what the original Sonic Adventure does.

Plot wise, it's as simple as it gets: Sonic and his crew are trying to stop Eggman and his plans, this time with Chaos, the ancient protector of the Master Emerald and the Chao species. Nothing much, it keeps up the spirit that Sonic is known for, I have nothing to add in good or bad favor. It's just there. I do want to point out that Gamma's part of the story is actually very interesting in terms of morals.
Too bad that the cutscenes are atrocious. I don't mind the models, that from the original SA have changed; I do mind the voiceacting that, for the most part, is bad. Is it inexperience of the time? Probably, but bad nonetheless. And I will not even go deep about the facial expressions. Geez.

The gameplay is divided by 6 characters, and to be honest I had no major issues in a negative sense, normally it's just me being a horrible player. Sonic is the best character here when it come to gameplay, a game this old was still able to give me thrills. It's charming in that sense. Tails and Knuckles don't get far behind, I especially like Knuckles's emerald hunting since the radar is very helpful; the other 3 are passable, ranging from okay like Amy, good but nothing amazing like Gamma and "God has actually left this planet long long ago" like Big the Cat.

The boss fights are also good, at least when it comes to Eggman and his robots. Fights between the main characters should have been worked out way more, cause conceptually it's good but all I have to do is jump or homing attack.
The Chaos fights are inconsistent, While I don't mind Chaos 2 and 6, 4 can absolutely go suck it. Fighting it more than once is exhausting. And Perfect Chaos, his second phase....Christ. Partially my fault for not understanding quickly what I had to do, but still, ONE HIT and the run is over and having to repeat both phases, while not stupid by itself, was infuriating.

The music. THE MUSIC. I love Mystic Ruins's theme, I love Station Squares's theme, I love every character's main theme and i LOVE Open Your Heart by Crush 40. The rest of the soundtrack is also pretty outstanding. Definitely one I would reccomend listening to off-game.

SADX left a good impression and going into SA2DX I hope that the good aspects keep up and that the negatives are fixed or removed.
