i played the original when i was a kid, i don't remember much but i feel its faithful enough to my memory to some degree.

i'm not a fan of the limited knife and the random chance of stun you have on some enemies, i feel this got tackled much better in the original, the game also really liked to shove an army after you mid and end game to deplete your resources, all while forcing you to use crossbow, it gets exhausting at some point, doesn't help that it reaaally stretches up.

with all that said, i still enjoyed it, the story and character feel much more developed in this remake, i actually loved luis and krauser in this, they along with ashley felt much more developed, but i do miss ashley's bratty style from the original.

in terms of which remake is the best, my favorite is still 2
