Alice is such a gem. I am so glad I played this game. The style is horrifying and ugly, a complete opposite to what you'd expect from a story you likely grew up with. The themes are dark and tragic, and the way Wonderland is depicted as a part of Alice and her machinations, incorporating the way her trauma blocks memories via many forms of symbolism. I also love seeing characters I recognize turned into distorted versions of themself. The story is very interesting, while slightly confusing, I still find it very easy at the end to get what happened. The human characters are also interesting to see, as it depicts the real world as evenly corrupted. The game (whether on purpose or not) shows how, even though Wonderland is fake and created by Alice's mind and awful trauma... the real world and these real people are naturally awful and just as grim as Wonderland. In fact, you might even find that the real world is way worse than Wonderland by the end. I love a game with good themes, and the mechanics of the game weren't bad at all either. In fact, I found it very fun to play. I love puzzles and I love platformers, and the fighting mechanic is really engaging as well as the enemies. All in all, a very good game.
