I remember when I first got this game when I was younger, I got really irritated at the motion controls and ended up returning it to Gamestop soon after.
When this got announced for the Switch, I thought to myself, "Maybe it's time I give this game another chance, after all, there's button controls now."
I am so glad that I did, because this game is amazing, the artstyle looked really good before, but now it looks even better.
The control stick is a little weird to use to swing the sword, but I understand why they went with that since the original was all about swinging the sword in certain directions and the control stick is the only thing that can actually pull that off without using motion controls.
The story of this game is really good, too, with it being the origin story of the Master Sword and the endless cycle of the fight between Link, Zelda, and Ganondorf in Demise.
I did hear of the problems that people had with this game and it had me worried that they would diminish my enjoyment of the game, and honestly, it really didn't.
The backtracking to older areas didn't bother me at all, which is one of the few problems people had with this game, aside from the three back to back fights against The Imprisoned, which yeah, that was kinda annoying.
And I did love the characters in this game, specifically Zelda and Groose, Groose is absolutely hilarious and has a really good character arc in this game, and this game's version of Zelda is definitely up there with one of my favorite versions of her, does not compare to her Wind Waker or Breath of the Wild variants, but it's pretty close.
And Fi's farewell did almost get to me, I really didn't dislike her as much as I thought I would, granted they devoted Fi to the down button and made that she doesn't pop in nearly as often, so that's probably one of the main reasons why she didn't bother me here.
All in all, this is a really decent game, not nearly as good as the ones I've played before it, but it's still pretty good.
Now, Nintendo, PORT WIND WAKER AND TWILIGHT PRINCESS TO THE SWITCH, YOU COWARDS!!!!
