I'd say this is my second-favourite Zelda game, just behind breath of the wild. Definitely my favourite 2d Zelda.
The puzzles were very inventive, always a lot of fun to complete and never frustrating. The main "merge into wall" mechanic is flawlessly executed: it opens so many interesting scenarios!
The item rent mechanic is very interesting and refreshing, though it makes progression in the early game a tad too quick. One could feel overwhelmed by getting so many new items so quickly. You don't really spend a lot of time with an item before renting a new one.
My main complaint (which is still really minor) is that the standard mode of this game is way too easy (I completed it with zero defeats, barely even using any healing items). I would have appreciated being able to select hero mode from the get-go. But other than that, it's an outstanding game, really fun, I highly recommend it!
