Chilling and complex story, incredibly well-written and brilliantly paced. Masahiro Ito's art serves as my personal largest defining creative influence, the way in which his distinct visual style shines through and blesses this game with it's beautiful eeriness defines the entire experience as perfect in my eyes. Pyramid Head is my personal favourite video game antagonist of all time, the intimidating and mysterious aura that follows him wherever he way decide to spontaneously appear separates him from the typical evil character that is often seen as an antagonist. The metaphorical and symbolic messages placed within the games story elevate it to a tier above all others, a piece of genuine artistic expression to be experienced.
