I initially wasn't a big fan of Persona 3 when I first played it on the PS2 back in 2010–11. It took me three attempts to vibe with the game and its core mechanics. This revisit to its world via the remaster of P3 Portable changed my outlook on the whole thing. Sure, the presentation and impact of certain scenes are gimped due to hardware limitations, but everything else you might love about P3 is still there, with some very nice added QoL features as well. Definitely play with AI party members.
