The combat system is kind of cool, until you realize that is both poorly-implemented and shallow. The game is a roguelike (Grrrr!) and plagued with poor design decisions. For example, you wander around on a map by clicking on the ground, like an old CRPG. But the map is divided into sectors, and there's only one thing per sector, and you can't avoid an enemy in the sector, you automatically go into combat, and...why do we have to wander around the map again? Can't we just click on each sector instead of spending 30 seconds walking through empty space.
The entire game is like this. Combat revolves around having your party members attack in a certain order, but you can't "queue up" your party members' moves, see how they will play out, and then hit "Go." Nope, once you've queued up the last move the battle automatically starts.
Do not buy unless you like roguelikes with paper thin turn-based RPG combat.
