not going to make a separate log for this thought: but its sound is impeccable. the way the ufo sound fades in and out and works with the rhythm of the invaders' movement and descent is proof alone that taito could've stopped here and still been one of the best to ever do it. the method of using colored gel overlays on the tube for most machines, including licensed clones from nichibitsu, is a very clever way to get color out of a monochrome display that was purpose built for one machine, and one machine only. would love to try the japanese cocktail cabinets with the 2-way lever at least once before my time on earth ends.
