As someone who's read the books and beat each game at least twice, this is the best Witcher story of all time and arguably the best content in the entire franchise. Nothing matches it on any level.

A somewhat bizarre game that succeeds where Dark Souls fails and completely flounders in every way Dark Souls succeeds. I didn't pay attention to the story or world at all past the first few missions and just spent my time murdering demons, which was fun enough. The combat isn't as polished as Dark Souls', but far more mechanically deep and arguably a lot better. There are a lot of cool weapons and interesting things to try out, hampered by jank and awkwardness, such as enemies having one shot combos that kill you in a way that feels frustrating rather than fair. It's hard to put into words unless you've played it yourself. The bosses are creative and mostly fine, but once you know how to play they're a little too easy for my liking.
Basically, it's pretty good but I can't say I'll ever actually finish it.

Beyond just not being finished, this game is a fucking mess. Kojima's full vision for the story was still awful and would not have fixed the story's major issues.

Fun game tho.
