My first formal experience at-home with Beatmania, and for the first console IIDX release, it's great. The song selection spans 1st-3rd Style to make up for the lack of ports for 1st/2nd/Substream up to that point. Songs that crossed over into DDR feel a lot more at home here with the lounge/house style they bring - Dr Love, I Was The One, Make Your Move, etc.
The UI features are lacking compared to later releases tho, you only get hard speed modifiers for 1x, 2x, 3x, and 4x, and you pick them BEFORE the game starts instead of on a per-song basis. I genuinely don't know how these charts are readable for some people unless you're just a god.

This collection of songs from the first three IIDX styles is pretty cool to see and play from an historical standpoint, and a lot of the songs featured in this game are exclusive to it. However, there are a lot of various issues, especially with the interface, that were ironed out in later games. I still like to go back to this one every now and then, though.
