I really want to like this game because the art and music is really charming, but unfortunately the gameplay is incredibly dull.

The only weapon you get is a boring pea-shooter, and in a roguelike, that's not good! Most of the power-ups don't do much to shake up the experience either.

This game is a classic example of a cute art-style being riddled by boring gameplay.

Big ol pile of meh to be honest. Ive never been one to subscribe to this mindset of 'You gotta play x amount of hours to get to the good stuff' because no absolutely not, you provide some of that sweet sweet dopamine out of the gate or early.

And for all intents and purposes this could probably get better after a few hours, trawling through secrets, grinding money and discovering the ins and outs of every nook and cranny but honestly it doesn't feel worth it. Its a fairly fun enough game buts its the sort of randomized dungeon crawler that I've seen so many other times that I feel desensitised at this point and while there is indeed a decent combat system in place that rewards quick reflexes and methodical battles, its also one plagued with copy-paste enemies and room upon boring room in between fun ones.

For those who absolutely have to play every single rogue-like in existence, there's probably plenty of fun to have here but all this did was really make me yearn for something else.
