Played as part of Atari 50.
Ironically probably better than the arcade original despite lacking trackball controls. To compensate for the lack of precision the board is decluttered a lot and snap reactions to things like the spiders are slowed down a ton, which is actually probably better for the game than how it was before. Still not, like, very much to write home about, and it tires quickly, but it's perfectly fine for a couple minutes.

Playing Through My Evercade Collection Part 1: Atari Vol 1
Honestly Centipede is fine, not amazing, just fine. Truth be told, when this appears in any given collection, I usually gravitate towards Millipede instead thanks to that having a few more interesting things going on. That said, this is a pretty solid conversion of the arcade game given the limitations of the actual system.
The limitations sort of help as well as there isn't quite as much cheap nonsense to kill you off so the game overall feels a little fairer when it comes to actual progression.
So yeah. Its a fun little shooter but one that still feels like it needs a little something extra.
