Everblue is an adventure game based on scuba diving. The player takes the role of a scuba diver salvaging items from sunken ships and photographing underwater wildlife while either avoiding or confronting predators like sharks. The game also features an inventory system for collected objects, healing items, weapons, and tools, as well as an above water town with shops and NPCs.

neat little scuba diving game, despite not being able to see shit half the time when you are in dungeons. Strangely more story-driven with RPG elements than I thought. Also the atmosphere of being underwater in sunken ships can feel borderline horror game-y, but the game doesn't have any actual scares in it, its more just dark and somber because the shipwreck itself is dark and somber. There's also a town of NPCs to talk to that I found charming. The game is cool, albiet probably a bit niche

I grew up with 2 and have been playing it for damn near 20 years now, but I was never able to play the first since it never came out in the states. I finally decided to give this one a try and came away mostly happy. The story isn't as fun as 2 and I didn't enjoy the exploration of the wrecks as much, but they were still fun. I don't think the game as a whole as as good as 2, but of course not its the first one.
